Australian Fungi

Australian Fungi

Australia has a diverse variety of fungi that come in amazing colours and shapes. The shapes that we often associate with fungi are but a brief explosion of the fruiting bodies of living organism that lies beneath. Spells of rainy or windy weather will bring the organism into a fruiting stage that is often very short lived.

The images seen on this page are captured by wildlife photographer Gary Knight.
