Australian Bowerbirds are a group of birds that are closely related to birds of paradise. They construct specialized courting structures called "Bowers" to attract potential mates. These structures can be quite elaborate and are usually decorated with bones, berries, flowers, and other coloured objects. Satin Bowerbirds for instance decorate their bower with blue items such as berries and all sorts of man made objects. Bowers are attended by the male of the species and are closely guarded most of the year. Interested Females will visit the bower often and build their nest alone. Nests are usually constructed of twigs among the branches of a tree.
